Levon Aronian Big chess master

Levon Aronian Big chess master

Aronian was born on 6 October 1982 in Yerevan. He was taught chess by his sister when he was 10. Levon Aronyan, along with Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand are the only chess players who have the 2800+ rating and thus he may considered to be the "third" chess man in the world. He is the world blitz chess champion and he had some other chess awards in the past. In 2002 Levon Aronian won the juniors' world championship (taking over McShane). He repeated his success in 2009. To give a complete picture of his chess virtuosity, we need to say that he is the ex-Chess960 world champion (Chess960 is a kind of the game when the figures are set in random order and thus the player cannot count on their knowledge of chess theory).

We also have no note Aronian's team achievements. Aronian shows the best performance for his national team at the moment. He may only be compared to his famous countryman Tigran Petrosian who performed in 1960-es. Armenia is a small country by population, but their recent team results are amazing. They won the Olympics in 2006 and 2008 and the world team championship in 2011. Levon Aronian is their inspirer and almost a national hero. He was declared the best sportsman of Armenia in 2005 and the Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Armenia in 2009.

Talking about classical chess, Aronian won the FIDE Grand Prix of 2008-2010 and, obviously, he will be one of the strongest players in the next cycle of the world chess championship. He also won the tournaments in Linares, Wijk aan Zee and the Tal Memorial in Moscow. And his becoming the candidate to the world crown is just a question of time.

This long list of achievements makes Levon quite dangerous and scaring opponent; but, in fact, he is very calm, friendly man with good sense of humor. Levon speaks perfect English that is why people enjoy his comments after each game.
